Independent Driving Instructor Agreement

This Agreement is between:

KABB Driving School (“the Company”)

AND

Independent Driving Instructor (ADI) (“the Instructor”)

1. Status of Instructor

The Instructor confirms that they are a self-employed, DVSA-approved Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) and are not an employee of KABB Driving School.

Nothing in this agreement creates an employment relationship, partnership, or agency.

2. Services

The Instructor agrees to provide driving tuition services to learners referred by KABB Driving School, including:

  • Conducting driving lessons
  • Providing safe, professional instruction
  • Managing lesson delivery independently
  • Ensuring DVSA standards are followed

3. Independence

The Instructor operates independently and is responsible for:

  • Their own teaching methods
  • Their own insurance (including dual control insurance)
  • Their own vehicle and maintenance
  • Their own tax and National Insurance

KABB Driving School does not control how lessons are delivered.

4. Learner Referrals

KABB Driving School may refer learners to the Instructor.

Once learner details are shared:

  • The Instructor becomes responsible for managing lessons
  • The Instructor is responsible for handling learner data securely
  • The Instructor must comply with UK GDPR and data protection laws

5. Data Protection

The Instructor agrees to:

  • Handle all learner personal data securely
  • Use data only for lesson purposes
  • Not share data with third parties without permission
  • Comply with UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018

6. Payments

  • Payment terms between Instructor and learner are agreed directly between them or via KABB Driving School arrangement.
  • KABB Driving School may charge a referral or service fee (if applicable, to be agreed separately).
  • The Instructor is responsible for reporting and managing their own income.

7. Conduct & Professional Standards

The Instructor agrees to:

  • Maintain DVSA professional standards
  • Treat all learners respectfully
  • Provide safe and lawful instruction
  • Maintain valid ADI registration at all times
  • Notify KABB Driving School if their ADI status changes or is suspended

8. Cancellations & Lessons

The Instructor is responsible for managing:

  • Lesson scheduling
  • Cancellations and rescheduling
  • Attendance and no-shows

9. Liability

KABB Driving School is not liable for:

  • Actions of independent instructors
  • Lesson outcomes
  • Accidents or incidents during lessons
  • Disputes between instructor and learner

10. Termination

Either party may end this agreement at any time with reasonable notice.

KABB Driving School may terminate immediately if:

  • The Instructor breaches professional standards
  • The Instructor loses ADI registration
  • The Instructor breaches data protection rules

11. Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales.

12. Acceptance

By working with KABB Driving School and accepting learner referrals, the Instructor agrees to these terms.

KABB Driving School

KABB Driving School provides professional automatic and manual driving lessons in Leeds and selected UK locations through a network of independent, DVSA-registered Approved Driving Instructors (ADIs).
